Rodriguez Appeal Expected to Continue

A former attorney for Alfonso Rodriguez says the death penalty appeal for the man convicted of killing Dru Sjodin could take another four years to reach the U-S Supreme Court.

A mental health hearing that was originally set for July has been delayed twice and attorney Bob Hoy predicts it will be one year or more before a decision is made by the federal appeals court.

Hoy says getting a decision from the federal appeals court is a process taking several months.

Rodriguez’s next hearing is scheduled for nine days in August.
