Bill Aimed at Drinking and Driving Recreational Vehicles

A new bill at the State Capitol would prohibit someone from driving a snowmobile or other recreational vehicle if they have a DWI conviction behind the wheel of a car, and vice-versa.

The bill was created after an eight-year-old boy was struck and killed in Chisago Lake by an intoxicated snowmobiler whose driver’s license had been revoked.

Representatives with the Minnesota United Snowmobile Association say their group takes a strong stance against drinking and snowmobiling and calls the bill a step in the right direction.
