An attempt to pass has resulted in the deaths of two young children after a weekend accident along Interstate 29.
Among those dead are a one-year-old and a nine-year-old child. Two others have been hospitalized.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the accident happened yesterday just before 11:30 AM when a black Honda Pilot spun-out after moving into the left lane, in an attempt to pass another vehicle. Authorities say the Honda was then T-boned by a semi while just north of Hillsboro, near mile marker 125.
Officials say the driver of the Honda, and a 3 year old passenger suffered serious injuries and were taken to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.
Names of the deceased are being withheld, pending notification of relatives.
