Minnesota employers reported nearly 114-thousand job vacancies in the fourth quarter of 2017, up 16% from the same period the year before.

Oriane Casale with the state Department of Employment and Economic Development says:
“The vacancies that seem to be kind of building up right now are the openings that pay the least — food service, retail, personal care — for example PCA’s.”

Casale says there were 4.2 openings for every 100 jobs in the state.
