Moving Day for Three Historic Buildings

It is moving day… tomorrow.

Glen Brazier, owner of the Wagon Wheel Ridge Event Center and Troy Peterson, with Greenway Environmental, say everything is in place to move three historic buildings; the Pelin Church, an old time school house and the former Karlstad Train Station, from Pelin Pioneer Park; some 10 miles to Karlstad.

The effort is expected to cause some traffic delays on Highway 11 beginning at 8am Friday morning and as the buildings come through Karlstad around 9am. Ottertail Power Company has also announced some service interruptions to help accomodate the move, from 7 to 10am.

The event is our late-week Key to the City Feature tomorrow; with Jake Webber and the Thief River Falls Radio Drone on hand to provide some special video footage, our interview with Mark Allen Friday Morning and a post later in the day to our TRF Radio Facebook Page.
When complete, the three structures will become part of the Frontier Village feature at Wagon Wheel Ridge; the Karlstad Depot the Center of Operations for “Old Number Nine:” the Mattracks AdventureWorld Train.
