Arlene was united in marriage to the love of her life, Lloyd Edward Tanem, on October 25, 1952 at the Zion Lutheran Church parsonage, Thief River Falls. Where she was employed at Eco-Water Systems of Woodbury, for 18 years and retired in 1995.

In the course of time the feasts came to an end for the family when Arlene retired and she and Lloyd headed south to begin a new chapter of their life together. Arlene and Lloyd traded in their house for a motorhome and were off to create new memories in Texas.
