Fire Damages Thief River Falls Home

No injuries, but there was extensive damage from a fire at a Thief River Falls Home overnight.

According to Fire Chief Mardy Semanko, the call for assistance came in just after 11pm; to a manufactured home at 924 Second Street West on Thief River Falls West Side.

Chief Semanko says one person inside escaped safely, but there was extensive smoke and water damage to the home, valued at $35,000.

Fire crews arrived to find the deck and outside entry area fully engaged; fire fighters quickly had things under control, knocking back the fire; the home owned by Glen Knott.

Chief Semanko says the cause of the blaze has been ruled accidental, the one occupant of the home in the living room when she was alerted by her dog barking and discovered the fire; exiting through the back door of the home.
