The Street Wizards is having an out-of-town evening cruise on Thursday, May17th, with a drive to Hallock for an open house/display event at Johnson Oil (weather permitting). This event is open to special interest vehicles from throughout the area. Area car enthusiasts and cruisers going to Hallock can meet at the TRF Petro Pumper parking lot at 4:15 for a 4:30pm departure or at 5:15 for a 5:30pm departure. The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council is thrilled to announce a group exhibition of Portrait Art, now open at the NWMAC Gallery in East Grand Forks through May 19th. Adult and student artists from our region created all of the artwork on display. There will be a Pancake Breakfast Benefit for Allen Erickson from 9am-noon on Sunday, May 20th at the Argyle American Legion. They will have a Freewill Donation and raffle items at the event. Proceeds will help defray medical costs for Allen.
The St. Hilaire Lion’s Club is serving a Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, May 20th from 9am-1pm at the St. Hilaire Community Center. The menu includes pancakes, sausages, scrambled eggs, juice, milk, and coffee. There will be a Freewill Offering with all proceeds going to playground equipment at St. Hilaire Park.
There will be a Healing and Prayer Service at the Thief River Falls Evangelical Covenant Church on Sunday, May 20th at 6:30pm. The special guest speaker will be Craig Andersen of Living Waters Church in Nielsville, MN. A time of prayer and ministry for your needs will follow. Everyone is welcome!
The Thief River Falls Community Theater is celebrating their 23rd season with 4 Summer Theater Productions for your enjoyment. The first one, “Love, Loss, and What I Wore”, is an intimate collection of stories and will be presented from Tuesday, May 22nd through Thursday, May 24th. All performances are at 7pm at the NCTC Theater, with tickets available at Digi-Key, and Pennington Square and Main. Tickets will be sold nightly at the door if seating is available.

The Thief River Falls Chamber of Commerce is working on the annual flower basket program. This program allows 140 beautiful flower baskets to be hung in downtown Thief River Falls and on the highway 59 double lanes. The purpose of this program is to beautify the streets and add color to our community; if you would like to help, please consider sponsoring a hanging flower basket. The fee to sponsor a flower basket is $70 per basket and that fee covers the cost of the plant, a pot, hanger, brackets, cart maintenance and daily watering with fertilizer.
