The Thief River Falls Library will have Storytime from 5-7pm on Thursday, May 24th. You can come to read the stories to your children at any time; the Staff or a Guest Reader will start reading stories at 6:15. For more information call the library at 681-4325.
The Thief River Falls Community Theater is celebrating their 23rd season with 4 Summer Theater Productions for your enjoyment. The first one, “Love, Loss, and What I Wore”, is an intimate collection of stories and will be presented through Thursday, May 24th. All performances are at 7pm at the NCTC Theater, with tickets available at Digi-Key, and Pennington Square and Main. Tickets will be sold nightly at the door if seating is available.
You can help celebrate Emergency Services Week with a Thief River Falls “EMS Week Celebration” on Friday, May 25th at the Huck Olson parking lot. From 12-2pm you can tour an ambulance, police cars, fire trucks and the Sanford AirMed helicopter, and meet local paramedics, EMT’s, police officers, firefighters and nurses; hot dogs, chips and drinks will be served. Activities will be moved indoors to the Huck Olson Arena if it rains.
Dads, or Grandpas, bring the kids to story time at the Thief River Falls Public Library and enjoy a doughnut! Every 4th Saturday of the month it’s “Dad’s and Doughnuts Storytime” at 10:00am at the library. For more information call the library at 681-4325.
The American Legion Post 427 of Newfolden will present a Memorial Day program on Monday, May 28th at 10:30am at the Community Center in Newfolden. Pastor Raymond Huglen will be the speaker for the program. Following the program, there will be a graveside service at the Veteran’s Memorial; lunch will be served by the Ladies Auxiliary following the graveside service. Post 427 will also hold a graveside service at the Holt cemetery at 1pm, weather permitting.
TRF VFW Post 2793 is hosting Memorial Day Services at 10:30am on Monday, May 28th at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls. A free lunch at the VFW will follow the program.

The Thief River Falls Chamber of Commerce is working on the annual flower basket program. This program allows 140 beautiful flower baskets to be hung in downtown Thief River Falls and on the highway 59 double lanes. The purpose of this program is to beautify the streets and add color to our community; if you would like to help, please consider sponsoring a hanging flower basket. The fee to sponsor a flower basket is $70 per basket and that fee covers the cost of the plant, a pot, hanger, brackets, cart maintenance and daily watering with fertilizer.
