Garbage bags will be handed out for all city residents who own or rent starting on Monday, June 4th and running through Friday, June 8th.  Bags will be handed out on the south side of the Public Works Facility, located at 1211 Atlantic Ave. North; hours are from 7am-5pm.

The city of Middle River will be flushing hydrants on Tuesday June 5th, Wednesday, June 6th and Thursday, June7th, starting at 4pm.

The Middle River Senior Dance will be on Wednesday, June 6th from 2-5pm at the Middle River American Legion; music will be by Texas Connection, burgers will be available at 5pm.

Join in for Seniorobics Fitness at 10:30am on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings, and walking at 10:00am on Tuesdays and Fridays; activities are held at the Newfolden Center.  The noon senior meal, followed by bingo, will be held at Nazareth Lutheran church in Holt on Thursday, June 7th.  All events are sponsored by Tri-Community Living At Home; call 874-2256 for more information.

On Wednesday, June 6th it’s the “Passport to Summer Fun” at the Thief River Falls Public Library; from 1-2pm join Tiffany in creating and personalizing a special summer travel journal to start off the summer reading program, supplies are provided.  For more information call the library at 681-4325.

The next Thief River Falls Area Food Shelf distribution will be Thursday, June 7th from 10am-1pm at the Food Shelf Building, located at 16330 150th St. NE (go south on Hwy 59 past the movie theater and turn left onto Hwy 61/150th St.. it is the green building/2nd drive on the left).

The Pennington County Sportsmen’s Club is holding their 3rd Annual “Man Cave Sale” on Friday, June 8th from 4-8pm and Saturday, June 9th from 8am-noon at the Sportsmen’s Club, 19929 140th Ave. NE; signs will be posted at the intersection of 8th St. and Dewey Ave. North.  Items include tools, reloading stuff and general guy stuff.  Proceeds will go to funding various club projects.

The American Cancer Society is sponsoring the 2018 Relay for Life of Marshall and Pennington Counties on Friday, June 8th from 5pm-midnight at the Marshall County Fairgrounds in Warren.  This will be a fun-filled event that will celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost to cancer, and fight back against the disease.  The event will also include entertainment, a silent auction, food and games, touching ceremonies, and stories of inspiration.  There is something for everyone at Relay for Life!  For more information call Karen Severts at 686-3317 or Amber Holten at 689-9405.

The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council is pleased to announce an exhibition of paintings and other works by Judy Szlarski, a long-time artist of Argyle.  Judy’s art exhibit is now open at the NWMAC Gallery in East Grand Forks through July 14th.  An Artist’s Reception will be held for Judy this Saturday, June 9th from 3-5pm.  For questions, call Kat Allen, Exhibition Specialist, at 701-360-0805.

First Lutheran Church is sponsoring Vacation Bible School from 5:30-7pm on June 11th-13th.  All Pre-K through 6th grade students are welcome to attend.
