It is a different kind of volunteer effort.
The Pennington County Law Enforcement Center is collecting applications for community volunteers who want to test facilities – at the New Justice Center – an expansion of the Law Enforcement Center and County Jail in Downtown Thief River Falls.
Volunteers are being recruited for “Jail Stay Times” on June 25th & 26th and on June 28th – to assist Corrections Staff-Training, and “test” the new facility, which is preparing to house inmates beginning in early July.
An application and back-ground check is required with forms available from the County Sheriff’s Department or on-line at penningtonsheriff.org.
The deadline for applications is June 15th.
Meanwhile; community tours of the new facility are scheduled in an Open House format – Wednesday, June 27th from 9am to 7pm – no volunteering required and everyone welcome!
