The Summer Meals Program offers FREE lunch Monday through Friday all summer long, rain or shine, for kids ages 18 years and younger; adult meals are $4.00.  Serving locations and times are as follows: 11:30-12:15 at Northrop Park, 11:45-12:15 at Lion’s Park, 12:00-12:20 at Challenger Elementary, and 11:00-11:20 at the ALC- Monday through Thursday only.

It’s that time of year again for “Thunder on Hooves Bull Ride Mutton Bustin’”, brought to you by TRF Radio.  Sign up your little ones ages 4-8 yrs. that weigh less than 60 lbs. by bringing them out to the TRF Radio Station during business hours, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.  Entries will be limited to 20 contestants per performance on both Friday, July 20th and Saturday, July 21st.

Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program that meets every Tuesday night at Epiphany Station in Thief River Falls.  This program is for anyone who is dealing with life’s hurts, habits or hang-ups.  The night starts at 6pm with a free meal followed by worship with a teaching or testimony; the night ends in small groups.  The groups currently offered are women’s life issues, addiction and grief and loss; and men’s addictions and life issues.  Nursery is provided, as well as celebration place for elementary aged children. The Thief River Falls Community Theater is celebrating their 23rd season with the third Summer Theater Production for your enjoyment.  “Willy Wonka Kids” is a delicious kids’ show and will be presented from Wednesday, July 11th through Friday, July 13th.  All performances are at 7pm at the NCTC Theater, with tickets available at Digi-Key, and Pennington Square and Main.  Tickets will be sold nightly at the door if seating is available.

The Street Wizards Car Club meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, July 11th.  Potluck and Social will begin at 6pm with a meeting to follow at 7pm; the club will provide the brats.  The meeting will be held at the Evangelical Free Church, located at 211 Arnold Ave. North, in Thief River Falls.  The meeting will be held at the shelter on the west side of the church, and will be moved inside the church in case of inclement weather.

The next Thief River Falls Area Food Shelf distribution will be Thursday, July 12th from 10am-1pm at the Food Shelf Building, located at 16330 150th St. NE (go south on Hwy 59 past the movie theater and turn left onto Hwy 61/150th St.. it is the green building/2nd drive on the left).

The Red Lake Falls Lions will hold their 9th annual 5K and 10K run/walk on Saturday, July 28th.  The event will be held at Voyager’s View Campground north of Red Lake Falls as part of Red lake Falls Summerfest.  Registration deadline for the 5K or 10K is July 18th.  All proceeds from the event will be used to support Minnesota Lions Diabetes Foundation, Inc.  Registration forms can be picked up at the Red Lake Falls City Hall.  Forms can be received by emailing Kevin Reich at kwrrlf@gmail.com or texting 218-232-2522.

It’s time to think about getting your entries ready for the Pennington County Fair.  Entries for canning and baking, needlework, table settings, sewing, arts and crafts, taxidermy, photography, homemade beer and wine, and wood working will be held from 10am-5pm on July 18th at the Huck Olson Arena in TRF.  This is the 7th year for the Children’s Coloring Contest; they can be picked up at Hugo’s and the Times Newspaper.  Bring the completed entries to the information booth at the fair before the morning of July 21st.  Prizes will be awarded to all who enter.
