Local enthusiasts have initiated a Summer Pickleball League in Thief River Falls with the first meeting Monday on the tennis courts at Northland Community and Technical College.

Organizers Bruce Nelson and Russ Christianson say Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in the U.S.

Pickleball combines elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis for two to four players.

The first session Monday is scheduled for 7pm – with sessions also scheduled next Tuesday (July 24th) and Wednesday (July 25th) at 9:30am.

No experience necessary, if you have played before and have your own paddles and balls, please bring them, otherwise equipment will be provided.

For more information contact Bruce Nelson; 218-289-7089 or Russ Christianson; 689-1972.
