The Thief River Falls Library will be hosting a presentation by the DNR about Minnesota’s Fur Bearing Animals from 1-2 pm. This is a part of the summer Reading Program.  For more information call 681-4325.

Sod House Theater is excited to present a new, blue-grass infused adaption of “An Enemy of the People”, that will tour to nine communities this summer.  Known for their fantastically fun productions, Sod House will join forces with local talent and audiences and will play in Hallock on July 25th-26th at 7pm.  Tickets are available at  The Northwest Regional Library System and the Hallock Public Library are sponsoring this event.  Local actors include residents from Hallock, Karlstad, Lake Bronson, Crookston and other neighboring communities.  For show information call 612-414-2032 or the Hallock Public Library at 218-843-2401.

The next Thief River Falls Area Food Shelf distribution will be Thursday, July 26th from 10am-1pm at the Food Shelf Building, located at 16330 150th St. NE (go south on Hwy 59 past the movie theater and turn left onto Hwy 61/150th St.. it is the green building/2nd drive on the left).

The Thief River Falls Zehlians will be hosting an “Art and Wine Walk” in downtown Thief River Falls on Thursday, July 26th.  Starting at the Carnegie Library, 20 businesses in downtown TRF will be participating with wine to taste and appetizers.  Each participating business will have art by an area artist displayed in their business.  Registration is from 5-7pm, with drawings and wine glass give-away to be held at 8:00pm; the cost is $15 with a pre-register and $20 at the door. Thief River Falls Public Schools will have 4 four year terms open for the school Board election this November; the filing period for this election is July 31-August 14, 2018.  Superintendent Bergstrom and Schoolboard Vice-Chairperson Misty Hempel will be conducting an informational session for anyone interested in learning more about the important role and duties of a school board member.  Please join them on Thursday, July 26th at 6:15pm in the District Service Center if you are interested filing for the election, they will be happy to answer any questions.  Call the Superintendent’s Office at 681-8711 ext.5227 if you have any questions.

It’s the 2nd Annual Freedom Festival in the Goodridge Veterans Memorial Park on Saturday, July 28th.  They’ll have crafters & vendors, bouncy houses, a rock climbing wall, kid’s inflatable archery, face painting, Food by Kate’s Kitchen, Baker St. Sales, Wallace’s Kettle Corn, the Goodridge Café, and a beer garden.  There’s a great line up of events, including music, a parade at 1:00 pm, a Live Auction and so much more.  You’ll find something for everyone.

The Thief River Falls Community Theater is celebrating their 23rd season with the final Summer Theater Production for your enjoyment.  “Grease”, the classic musical with an all teen cast, will be presented Tuesday, July 31st through Thursday, August 2nd.  All performances are at 7pm at the NCTC Theater, with tickets available at Digi-Key, and Pennington Square and Main.  Tickets will be sold nightly at the door if seating is available.

The River of Life Church is sponsoring a “Shoe Drive Fundraiser”.  They are collecting gently worn, used and new shoes; any and all sizes, kids and adults.  Any money raised will go towards their children’s ministry.  You can drop off donations at Ace Rental, Westside Motors or the River of Life Church, through the end of July.
