The Summer Meals Program offers FREE lunch Monday through Friday all summer long, rain or shine, for kids ages 18 years and younger; adult meals are $4.00. Serving locations and times are as follows: 11:30-12:15 at Northrop Park, 11:45-12:15 at Lion’s Park, 12:00-12:20 at Challenger Elementary, and 11:00-11:20 at the ALC- Monday through Thursday only.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office is sponsoring a “Night to Unite” from 5:30-8pm, with a meal served from 5:30-7:30pm, on Tuesday, August 7th at the Marshall County Fairgrounds. Please come out and meet all your local law enforcement, EMT and fire personnel.
Thief River Falls Community Block Party Night to Unite will be held at the Peder Engelstad Pioneer Village on Tuesday, August 7th, from 5-7 pm. The entertainment line-up includes the Jensen Sisters at 5:00pm and the Northland Community Band at 5:45 pm. Root beer floats, free hot dogs, chips, and watermelon will be served and door prizes will be awarded.
Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program that meets every Tuesday night at Epiphany Station in Thief River Falls. This program is for anyone who is dealing with life’s hurts, habits or hang-ups. The night starts at 6pm with a free meal followed by worship with a teaching or testimony; the night ends in small groups. The groups currently offered are women’s life issues, addiction and grief and loss; and men’s addictions and life issues. There will be a Nutrition Fundraiser from 4-6pm on Wednesday, August 8th at the Karlstad Community Center. Start off MooseFest with a Potato Klub Supper and a 50/50 drawing at $8 a plate. Powerful Tools for Caregivers, an educational program for caregivers who are caring for a family member, friend, or neighbor, is a six-week series that meets for 1 ½ hours each Wednesday from 6-7:30pm, starting August 8th and ending September 12th at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. The St. Hilaire Lions are holding their annual St. Hilaire Lions Redneck Round-A-Bout Island Park Baja Race on Saturday, August 11th. The gates open at 10am and the race begins at 3pm at Island Park in St. Hilaire. Free overnight camping is available in the pits; there will be a tailgater’s area at the race, concessions and a beer garden.
