CHIP Program (Complete Health Improvement Program) meetings will be held on  Wednesday, August 22nd at 6:30 pm, Thursday, August 23rd at 5pm and Tuesday, August 28th at 6:30 pm in the Thief River Falls Public Library.

The next Thief River Falls Area Food Shelf distribution will be Thursday, August 23d from 10am-1pm at the Food Shelf Building, located at 16330 150th St. NE (go south on Hwy 59 past the movie theater and turn left onto Hwy 61/150th St.. it is the green building/2nd drive on the left).

The city of Newfolden will have a power outage on Thursday, August 23rd from 8am-10am.  Workers are optimistic that the outage will not extend the full two hours, but it is a possibility that it will.  This affects all residents and businesses in the city of Newfolden.

You can enjoy an afternoon of cards, games & potluck on Thursday, August 23rd at 1:00 pm at the Newfolden Center; sponsored by Tri-Community Living at Home.

Come to Pioneer Village on Thursday, August 23rd for a Threshing Bee; you can watch a real thresher from 6-8pm.

It’s time for the Grygla Fall Festival, starting Friday, August 24th and running through Sunday, August 26th.  The festivities begin on Friday night at 5:00pm with the opening of the beer gardens and food stands, followed by a Fun Run, Bean Bag Toss Tournament, Talent/Variety Show, and ending with a street dance with the band “Shell Shock”.  Activities for the day begin on Saturday at 9am and include softball and horseshoe tournaments, kiddie games, farmer’s market, crafts and bake sale, a tractor, snowmobile, motorcycle and car show, parade, tractor pulls, demolition derby, and ending again with a street dance with Shell Shock from 8:30-11:30pm.  On Sunday morning there will be a Breakfast Buffet from 7am-noon, followed by a Joint Community Worship at 9:30 and softball and sand volleyball tournaments after that.  There’s fun for everyone at the Grygla Fall Festival!

The Pennington County Humane Society will be having an Adoption Event on Saturday, August 25th at Tractor Supply in Thief River Falls.  You can see some of the different dogs and cats available for adoption and donations can also be dropped off.  There will be a cook-off with other vendors there; if you would like to be a vendor, please call Cheri at Tractor supply at 681-7777.
