It’s time for the Grygla Fall Festival, Activities for Saturday include softball and horseshoe tournaments, kiddie games, farmer’s market, crafts and bake sale, a tractor, snowmobile, motorcycle and car show, parade, tractor pulls, demolition derby, and ending again with a street dance with Shell Shock from 8:30-11:30pm.  On Sunday morning there will be a Breakfast Buffet from 7am-noon, followed by a Joint Community Worship at 9:30 and softball and sand volleyball tournaments after that.  There’s fun for everyone at the Grygla Fall Festival!

Dads, or Grandpas, bring the kids to story time at the Thief River Falls Public Library and enjoy a doughnut!  Every 4th Saturday of the month it’s “Dad’s and Doughnuts Storytime” at 10:00am at the library.  For more information call the library at 681-4325.

The Pennington County Humane Society will have an Adoption Event on Saturday, August 25th at Tractor Supply in Thief River Falls.  You can see some of the different dogs and cats available for adoption and donations can also be dropped off.  There will be a cook-off with other vendors there; if you would like to be a vendor, please call Cheri at Tractor supply at 681-7777.

The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council is excited to exhibit “Inklings” by Jill Levene of Middle Sister Made, in Warren.  This exhibit is on display until August 26th at the Riverwalk Gallery in East Grand Forks.

The Thief River Falls Public Library presents “Books Come Alive-Part 2” from 6:30-7pm on Monday, August 27th.  Dan Bartsch will review and read different books that could enhance your reading choices.  This is a continuation of a program Dan did at Northern Lights Bookstore.

All Women’s Volleyball captains and players interested in having a volleyball team on Tuesday or Thursday nights for the 2018-2019 season must attend the organizational meeting on Thursday, August 30th at 7:30pm at the Eagle’s Club.  If you have any questions, please contact Kerry Newland at 681-1735.

The Thief River Falls Area Community Theatre presents “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” for one night only, Friday, August 30, at 7:30 pm in the Firehall Theatre 412 2nd Avenue, Grand Forks ND.  Tickets $15 available at trfart.org and at the door.

Trails to Treatment is sponsoring a fundraiser on Friday and Saturday, August 31st and September 1st.  One of the kick-off events is the Karaoke competition, which will be held on Friday evening at 8pm at the Wheel Bar in Middle River.  Singers are needed for this competition and prizes will be awarded.  Trails to Treatment is a great program that offers assistance to patients currently receiving cancer treatments.  Accept the challenge and join in the fun.  If interested, register with veteran karaoke performer, Jody Kirkeide.  Call her at 684-1228; leave a message if there’s no answer.  Or, you can just show up and register on site.
