The Middle River Farmer’s Market will be at the picnic shelter on Main Street on Fridays from 2-5 pm through September. Plants, baked goods, jellies, fruits & vegetables, eggs, fancy work and garden décor will be available.
Oak Ridge Church will hold their annual Fall Bazaar and Rummage Sale on Saturday, September 15th from 9am to 2pm. Items include quilts, baked goods, garden produce, crafts and misc. items plus donated rummage sale items. Lunch, bars, and coffee served all day.
The Heritage Community Center of Thief River Falls is sponsoring a fundraiser on Saturday, September 15th. Serving from 11am-2pm, the menu includes BBQs, potato salad, and baked beans; the cost is $7. Come out and support your local senior citizen center.
There will be a benefit for Emma Basting on Saturday, September 15th from 3-7pm at the Grand Forks Growth and Support Center. 2 year old Emma, daughter of Aaron and Brandi Bartuska-Basting, was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. Emma is now paralyzed from the chest down and has undergone 6 rounds of chemotherapy, multiple surgeries and has required many transfusions, with at least another year of treatment needed to fight her cancer. You can enjoy a “Fly-In/Drive-In Brunch” in the commons area of the NCTC Airport Campus on Sunday, September 16th. From 9:30am to 2:00pm the Kiwanis Club will be serving meatballs, parsley potatoes, green beans, and more. The cost is $12/adults, $8/12 years and under. Proceeds will be going to the Kiwanis local youth programs. Tours of the Northland Aviation Campus and the Airport will be available.
Nazareth Lutheran Church of Holt will be having their annual Fall Dinner on Sunday, September 16th from 12 noon to 2:30pm. The menu includes turkey, dressing, potatoes, gravy, lefse, rommegrot, carrots, buns, cranberries, pickles, dessert and a beverage. The price is adults/$12, ages 5-9/$5, and preschoolers/free. Packaged lefse and rommegrot will be available for sale at the door. They will also have a Quilt Raffle and Anniversary Cookbooks for sale.
On Sunday, September 16th a festival called “Village Arts: A Celebration of Creativity” will be held at Peder Engelstad Pioneer Village in Thief River Falls. The festival will be held from 1-5pm and will include music, dance, theater and visual arts. Visual artists are needed to display their work on that day. They will also have the option of selling their art. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection will implement the winter seasonal schedule at the Lancaster Port of Entry. Effective September 16th, the winter hours will be 8am-6pm. Travelers wishing to cross into the U.S. when the port is closed may use the Pembina, North Dakota Port of Entry, which is open 24 hours and located approximately 30 miles west of Lancaster.
