(Thief River Falls, MN) — The Thief River Falls Norskies opened the SIJHL season with a 6-1 win over the Minnesota Iron Rangers on Thursday at the Ralph Engelstad Arena in Thief River Falls. The Norskies tallied five unanswered goals in the second period, backed by 16 saves for goaltender Bailey Schmitz. Former Thief River Falls High School goalie Nick Corneliusen took the loss for the Iron Rangers.

(Oakland, CA) — The Twins open up their final road series of the season tonight in Oakland against the A’s. Minnesota has won four in-a-row after sweeping the Tigers in Detroit. Jose Berrios will get the ball tonight for the Twins. The A’s will counter with Liam Hendriks.

(Cleveland, OH) — The Browns are celebrating their first win since 2016. They rallied for a 21-17 win over the Jets on Thursday Night Football in Cleveland. Rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield replaced an injured Tyrod Taylor in the second quarter and helped bring the Browns back from a 14-0 deficit. Carlos Hyde ran for 98 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
