(Atlanta, GA) — Tiger Woods is celebrating his first victory in more than five years. Woods carded a plus-one 71 in Sunday’s final round to win the TOUR Championship in Atlanta. Woods finished at 11-under-par for the tournament, two shots ahead of Billy Horschel. It’s his first victory since the 2013 WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and 80th of his PGA Tour career.

(Minneapolis, MN) — Rookie Josh Allen threw for a touchdown and ran in for two more as the Bills stunned the Vikings with a 27-6 win at US Bank Stadium. Buffalo led 27-0 until Minnesota scored with 2:59 left in the fourth quarter. Kirk Cousins finished 40-of-55 for 296 yards and a TD, but also had two fumbles and an interception as the Vikings fell to 1-1-and-1. Adam Thielen racked up 14 catches for 105 yards. The Vikes visit the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday night.

(Oakland, CA) — Kyle Gibson pitched one-run ball into the eighth inning as the Twins dropped the Athletics 5-1 in Oakland. Jake Cave opened the scoring for Minnesota with a two-run homer in the first inning. Max Kepler, Ehire Adrianza and Chris Gimenez all plated runs in the fourth inning for Minnesota, which avoided the three-game sweep.

It’s the start of a seven-game homestand to wrap up the year. The White Sox will come to town for four games starting Thursday. (Minneapolis, MN) — Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns has officially signed a multi-year contract extension, the team announced Sunday. The five-year, super-max deal was reported over the weekend to be worth $190-million. Towns averaged 21.3 points and 9.4 rebounds last season, helping the Wolves reach the playoffs for the first time since 2004.

(Dallas, TX) — The Wild are back on the ice tonight visiting the Dallas Stars in preseason action. Minnesota moved to 1-and-3 in exhibition play with Saturday’s 7-0 home win over Colorado. The Wild will host Winnipeg on Wednesday before wrapping up the preseason on Friday at Colorado.

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Golden Gophers not only lost their Big Ten opener Saturday at Maryland, safety Antoine Winfield Jr. was also lost for the season with a left foot injury. Winfield was also limited to just four games last year with a hamstring injury. Minnesota dropped to 3-and-1 on the season with the setback. The Gophers are off this week.

NDSU hosts South Dakota State to begin MVFC play this Saturday. Meanwhile, the Fighting Hawks fell to 2-and-2 with a 25-21 setback to the Bengals. UND visits Northern Colorado this Saturday.
