Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program that meets every Tuesday night at Epiphany Station in Thief River Falls. This program is for anyone who is dealing with life’s hurts, habits or hang-ups. The night starts at 6pm with a free meal followed by worship with a teaching or testimony; the night ends in small groups. The groups currently offered are women’s life issues, addiction and grief and loss; and men’s addictions and life issues. Tri-Community Living at Home presents “Burgers and Birds”. On Tuesday, September 25th at 6pm you can get information on autumn bird watching and feeding and enjoy a Hobo Haus burger basket for $6, all at the same time at the Newfolden Center. For more information call 874-2256.

The book fair will be open daily from 7:30am to 6:30pm. You’ll find a treasure load of books for preschool through adult readers; the entire community is invited to the Challenger Book Fair, located in Gym 1.
Walt Cross, who provides lifestyle education on the physiological benefits of lifestyle health, will be presenting Old Mountain Health Remedies lectures at Nature’s Retreat in Middle River. There will be four presentations on Saturday, September 29th, beginning at 9:30am and running throughout the day until 4pm. On Sunday the 30th there will be one presentation at 9:30am. Immanuel Lutheran Church is serving their Annual Fall Supper on Saturday, September 29th from 5-7:30pm at the Plummer Community Hall. The menu includes turkey, mashed potatoes, dressing, vegetable, dessert and beverage. The price is adults/$12, and 10 and under/$7; take-outs will be available. A Silent Auction and Bake sale will be held upstairs until 7:30, come and enjoy!

United Lutheran WNALC of Bernier/Gonvick will serve their Annual Fall Dinner at noon on Sunday, September 30th. The menu includes ham, baked potatoes, carrots, coleslaw, raisin sauce, white molasses finger rolls, and apple cake with caramel sauce and whipped cream. The price is $10/adults, $5/children 6-12 and 5 and under free.
The Alma Free Lutheran Church, in rural Argyle, will be having their annual “OfferFest” on Sunday, September 30th at 2:30pm. The Dennis Klopp family will share in song; pie and ice cream will be served, everyone is welcome.
Redeemer Lutheran Church of Thief River Falls is sponsoring the 28th Annual Hospice of the Red River Valley Spaghetti Benefit Dinner on Monday, October 1st from 5-7pm. A Freewill Offering will be collected; proceeds will go to Hospice of Red River Valley.
There will be a benefit for Lisa Geske on Thursday, October 4th from 4:30-8pm at the Eagles Club in Thief River Falls. They will be serving BBQ’s, macaroni salad, baked beans, and chips. There will be a live Auction at 7pm, with a silent auction, bake sale and raffle throughout the evening. Lisa was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2018. The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council sponsors an annual Traveling Art Exhibit, which visits northwest Minnesota communities throughout the year. The exhibit includes 15 original pieces of art by regional adult artists. The exhibit is currently at the Ada Public Library until November 2nd.
