You are invited to join in the fun at the Challenger Elementary Forest Book Fair on Monday, October 1st through noon on Friday, October 5th.  The book fair will be open daily from 7:30am to 6:30pm.  Stop in for the evening special family events on Tuesday, October 2nd and Thursday, October 4th from 5:30pm to 8pm for great books, prizes and more!  You’ll find a treasure load of books for preschool through adult readers; the entire community is invited to the Challenger Book Fair, located in Gym 1.

Redeemer Lutheran Church of Thief River Falls is sponsoring the 28th Annual Hospice of the Red River Valley Spaghetti Benefit Dinner on Monday, October 1st from 5-7pm. A Freewill Offering will be collected; proceeds will go to Hospice of Red River Valley.

The regular meeting of the Middle Snake/Tamarac Rivers Watershed District scheduled for Monday, October 1st has been cancelled.  A special meeting for permits will be held on Tuesday, October 9th at 8:30am at the District Office.

The Thief River Falls Public Library will have Storytime on Tuesday, October 2nd at 9:30am.  For more information call the library at 681-4325.

Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program that meets every Tuesday night at Epiphany Station in Thief River Falls.  This program is for anyone who is dealing with life’s hurts, habits or hang-ups.  The night starts at 6pm with a free meal followed by worship with a teaching or testimony; the night ends in small groups.  The groups currently offered are women’s life issues, addiction and grief and loss; and men’s addictions and life issues.  Nursery is provided, as well as celebration place for elementary aged children. There will be a benefit for Lisa Geske on Thursday, October 4th from 4:30-8pm at the Eagles Club in Thief River Falls.  They will be serving BBQ’s, macaroni salad, baked beans, and chips.  There will be a live Auction at 7pm, with a silent auction, bake sale and raffle throughout the evening.  Lisa was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2018.  Donations will help with medical and travel expenses and time off work.  For questions call Laurie at 681-5703.

The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council sponsors an annual Traveling Art Exhibit, which visits northwest Minnesota communities throughout the year.  The exhibit includes 15 original pieces of art by regional adult artists.  The exhibit is currently at the Ada Public Library until November 2nd.

Fall Fancy Work Sale at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Rural Grygla, Saturday, October 6.  Live Auction, of all types of hand made items, quilts, rugs, dishtowels, baked goods, candy and garden produce.  Refreshments and bars following the sale.  Everyone welcome
