A Wahpeton area teenager was injured in a two vehicle accident last night in Wilkin County.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Autumn Leinen, 18, was injured when the 1999 Pontiac Grand Am she was driving rear-ended a 2009 Ford pick-up driven by Michael Jelle of Sartell, 66.
Authorities say Leinen was eastbound on Highway 210 when a passenger car slammed on the brakes for a school bus ahead of Jelle’s truck, with Leined’s Pontiac unable to stop in time to avoid the collision in Andrea Township in Wilkin County.
Leinen was taken to St Francis Hospital with injuries officers at the scene describe as non-life threatening. Officials say she was not wearing her seat-belt to the time of the accident, reported just before 4PM.
Jelle, who suffered no apparent injury was reportedly belted.
No other injures or damage have been reported.
