There will be a Fall Fancy Work Sale at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in rural Grygla on Saturday, October 6th at 7pm. You’ll find a Live Auction of all types of handmade items, quilts, rugs, dishtowels, baked goods, candy and garden produce. Refreshments and bars will be served following the sale. Everyone is welcome.
The Thief River Falls Public Library presents “Cereal Taste Testing” on Monday, October 8th at 3:30pm. Come in and show off your taste bud skills with their “Blind Cereal Taste Test”. From 6:30-7pm on Monday evening, Dan Bartsch presents “Books Come Alive-Part 2”; he will review and read different books that could enhance your reading choices. The Middle Snake/Tamarac Rivers Watershed District will have a special meeting for permits on Tuesday, October 9th at 8:30am at the District Office.
There will be a Youth Trapping Class for kids ages 10 through 17 on Wednesday and Thursday, October 10th and 11th at 4pm at the TRF Public Library Meeting Room. Field work will be held Saturday, October 13th at the Pennington County Sportsmen’s Club. Pre-registration is required; there is no cost for this class, size is limited to 24. Parent-Teacher Conferences at Lincoln High School, Franklin Middle School, and Challenger Elementary School will be held on Thursday, October 11th from 4-8pm, Tuesday, October 16th from 4-8pm, and Wednesday, October 17th from 8am-12pm. They will be using Synergy, the student information system, to schedule the conferences. The site will be open starting at 8am on Friday, October 5th and will close on Wednesday, October 10th at 3pm.
Grace Lutheran Church of Grygla is sponsoring their Annual Lutefisk Supper on Saturday, October 13th from 4-7:30pm at the Grygla Community Center. The menu includes lutefisk, lefse, Swedish meatballs with gravy, real mashed potatoes, carrots, cranberries and homemade desserts. The price is 13 yrs. to adults/ $16 (for lutefisk), 13 yrs. to adults/ $10 (for meatballs), 5-12 yrs./$6, and preschool is free. To-go boxes will be available; there will also be a bake and handcraft sale.
The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council sponsors an annual Traveling Art Exhibit, which visits northwest Minnesota communities throughout the year. The exhibit includes 15 original pieces of art by regional adult artists. The exhibit is currently at the Ada Public Library until November 2nd.
