One person was injured in a two vehicle accident on Highway two yesterday in St. Louis County.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Coreen Anderson, 44, of Duluth was injured when the 2008 Ford Escape she was driving was struck by a 2004 Toyota Prius driven by Kelcie Fransen, 37, Johnson of Duluth.
Officials say The Prius was westbound on the Munger Shaw Road when it failed to yield to the Ford Escape which was westbound on Highway 2.
Anderson was taken to St Luke’s for injuries officers at the scene describe as non-life threatening. Fransen Johnson suffered no apparent injury. A passenger in Fransen Johnson’s vehicle, 21 year old Michael Lee Brunell, also suffered no apparent injury.
All occupants were wearing seat-belts at the time of the accident reported just before 9AM.
Officials say alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
