A man has been arrested after he was involved in a chase with police this morning.
Paul Fitzgerald Smith, the second, 25, of Grand Forks was taken into custody and faces a long list of charges.
According to Grand Forks Police, an attempted traffic stop occurred just before 3 a.m. with the driver of an Oldsmobile Achieva in the 2000 block of 27th Avenue South refusing to pull over, starting a chase through south Grand Forks.
The chase ended when the vehicle lost it’s rear passenger wheel with the driver attempting to flee authorities until the vehicle ran into a dead end in the 58 hundred block of Lou-Ann Street South. Police later discovered the vehicle was stolen.
Smith is charged with fleeing in a motor vehicle, reckless driving, possession of stolen property, terrorizing, resisting arrest, driving under suspension, driving under the influence, providing false information to law enforcement and ingesting a controlled substance.
