Donald “Skip” Litstrom, 78, of Thief River Falls, MN passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Riverview Care Center, Crookston, MN. 

Memorial Service is 11:00 AM Monday, December 3, 2018 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Alex Amiot officiating.  Visitation is one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Donald Edward “Skip” Litstrom was born June 11, 1940 in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Floyd C. and Ruth (Thompson) Litstrom.  He attended Lincoln High School and Bemidji State College, where he earned his B.S. degree and also attended the University of Minnesota and obtained his Master’s Degree.  He also did graduate work at the University of Iowa.

On December 16, 1961, Donald was united in marriage to Bonnie L. Burrell at United Methodist Church, Thief River Falls, MN.  They made their home in Plymouth, MN where they resided for their working years.

Skip was a teacher and worked as a Work Experience Coordinator for the Minneapolis School System.

He enjoyed sailing, scuba diving, traveling, going for walks and visiting with people.

Skip was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls.  He was also a member of the Elks Club and Eagle’s Club in Thief River Falls.

He is survived by wife Bonnie of Thief River Falls, MN; children: Kristine (Tim) Litstrom; daughter-in-law, Jenny Litstrom; grandchildren: Jack and Leia Litstrom; sister: Tucky Rodrigue of San Diego, CA;

Preceded in death by son, Timothy Litstrom; and his parents.
