A teen driver was injured in a two vehicle accident Friday in Cass County.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Shane Evenson, 18, was injured when the eastbound 1997 Honda CRV he was driving turned northbound on Highway 210, into the path of a West bound 2000 Chevy Silverado on County Road 18. Officials say the vehicles collided at the intersection with the Silverado coming to rest against “the Corner Store”.
Evenson was taken to Essentia St. Joseph’s for injuries officers at the scene describe as non-life threatening. The driver of the Silverado, Chastity Runge, 17, of Staples, suffered no apparent injury.
Road conditions were listed as wet and both drivers were wearing their seat-belts at the time of the accident, reported just before ten PM.
Officials say alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
