A Euclid area teenager was injured and arrested this morning after leading police on an high speed chase in Polk County.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Ethan Don-Edward Yarbro, 19, was injured when a Polk County Deputy noticed a vehicle traveling in a suspicious manner and attempted a traffic stop, with the vehicle accelerating at an high rate of speed. Officials say the vehicle took multiple turns, on and off the roadway during the pursuit that ended in a collision on 140th Street Southwest, just under one mile from Highway 75.
Yarbro and a female passenger, 17, were taken to Riverview Health and treated for injuries deputies at the scene describe as minor.
The pair have admitted to consuming alcohol prior to the chase reported just before 1:30 PM. Yarbro was arrested at the scene. Charges are pending.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Minnesota State Patrol, Crookston Police and Crookston Area Ambulance.
