Construction of a new building for the Pennington County Highway Department was discussed last week at a Commissioners meeting in downtown Thief River Falls.
County Engineer Mike Flaagan says money is available in this years Building and Improvements Budget. He says the County needs the building for storage of vehicles, signs and barricades.
He says the 35 by 50 foot building will have 12 foot high walls, and likely cost around $22,561.
Flaagan also noted Tuesday that the City of Thief River Falls voted to take over County Ditch 70. The County took no action last week, saying they want to wait until the Watershed District weighs in on the issue. Flaagan says they are in the design phase of the project.
Meanwhile, an annual County Ditch Levy meeting is scheduled for 8 AM December 28th in the old County Board Room.
