Marvin Lundin, 82 of Thief River Falls, MN died suddenly at home on January 2, 2019.
Survived by Janet, loving wife of 61 years of Thief River Falls; children, Lori (Steve) Schwartz of Maple Grove, MN, Jeri (Arne) Espeseth of New Brighton, MN, Mark (Janelle) Lundin of Bemidji, MN; 7 grandchildren, Kara (Stefan) Wolf, Kelsey (John Paul) Schwartz Awad, Tanner Espeseth, Noah Espeseth, Dillon Lundin, Garrett Lundin, Tatum Lundin, and 1 great granddaughter, Solveig Wolf; and their dog, Mollie. He loved all of them dearly. Preceded by parents, Henry & Myrtle (Hanson) Lundin; sister, Alice Lundin; brother, Morris Lundin.
Marv worked 7 years with the Warren Sheaf and 38 years as editor with the Thief River Falls Times newspaper. He has been retired 19 years. He was an avid bird hunter, fisherman, sports fan, bowler and master woodworker, producing numerous retirement plaques for the University of Minnesota as well as many beautiful items treasured by family and community members. Marv was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Rotary Club, Jaycee’s, active supporter of 4-H, Ducks Unlimited and supported multiple community activities with his work at the Times.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 7, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. John Voelker officiating. Visitation from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a 6:00 PM prayer service on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church and from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Monday. Private burial at Pleasant View Cemetery, rural Ada, MN.
