The Thief River Falls Area Food Shelf has new hours.  Distribution will now be every Tuesday from 1-6pm and every Thursday from 11am-4:30pm at the Food Shelf Building, located at 16330 150th St. NE (go south on Hwy 59 past the movie theater and turn left onto Hwy 61/150th St.. it is the green building/2nd drive on the left).  Please bring your own boxes.

There will be no Bingo at the Heritage Center until further notice.

Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program that meets every Tuesday night at Epiphany Station in Thief River Falls.  This program is for anyone who is dealing with life’s hurts, habits or hang-ups.  The night starts at 6pm with a free meal followed by worship with a teaching or testimony; the night ends in small groups.  The groups currently offered are women’s life issues, addiction and grief and loss; and men’s addictions and life issues.  Nursery is provided, as well as celebration place for elementary aged children. The Thief River Falls Christian Women’s Club/Stonecroft Ministries will sponsor a noon lunch and program on Tuesday, January 15th at the American Legion in Thief River Falls.  Olive Wiskow will tell you about the different plans that God had for her; Sandy Hensrud, a local artisan, will share how she provides “get togethers” with exciting and unique art experiences; and Gina Stoutenburgh will bring her musical talents to entertain you.  The cost is $9.00; for reservations or cancelations call Diane at 681-3229 or Carmen at 681-3091.  Reservations are appreciated by Thursday, January 10th.

Miss Thief River Falls and Miss RiverFest present “Dude Looks like a Lady” at 6:30pm on Thursday, January 10th at the Riverwalk Public House.  Local gents will each perform a talent, answer an on-stage question, and walk the runway in their evening attire – all for charity; one “Miracle Dude” and one “People’s Choice” winner will be crowned.  Tickets can be purchased at the door for $10; all proceeds go to the Children’s Miracle Network.  Doors open at 5:30pm for a social hour and silent auction.

The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council sponsors an annual Traveling Art Exhibit, which visits northwest Minnesota communities throughout the year.  The exhibit includes 15 original pieces of art by regional adult artists.  The exhibit is currently at the Roseau Public Library until March 1st.
