St. Bernard’s Catholic Church is serving a Fish Fry on Friday, January 25th at the Parish Hall in Thief River Falls.  The menu includes their famous beer battered walleye, mashed potatoes and white gravy, corn, coleslaw and fresh bread.  The price is $13 for two fillets and $11 for one fillet.  They will be serving from 5:30 to 7pm, with carry-out orders from 5-7pm and delivery orders taken after 3pm; call 681-3560.  Please visit St. Bernard’s “Dessert Sweet Shop” after your meal.

There will be a benefit for Rochelle Chaput on Saturday, January 26th at the American Legion in Red Lake Falls.  A Free Will Offering meal will begin at 5:00pm with a Bake Sale and Silent Auctions throughout the night, and a live Auction at 8:00.  Rochelle, daughter of Craig and Carole Chaput, of Red Lake Falls was diagnosed with a very rare, snapping scapula syndrome in 2015.  She has had 5 surgeries at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester and continues to travel to Mayo for treatments.  If you would like to donate cash or auction items please call Steve Philion at 218-253-2499.

Join the Pembina Trail Toms, a chapter of the NWTF, for the 18th Annual Hunting Heritage Banquet on Saturday, January 26th starting at 5:30pm at the Quality Inn in Thief River Falls.  They will have raffles, live and silent auctions and more.  Call 689-2913, 689-4698 or 681-4250 after 5pm for more information.

There will be a benefit at the Oak Ridge Church Family Night on Sunday, January 27th from 4-7pm; they will be serving homemade soups, grilled sandwiches and dessert.  Confirmation students will share photos and stories from their 2018 houseboat trip and there will also be silent auction items to bid on.  Funds raised will go to Grant Kilen and his parents to help defray costs incurred during his battle with cancer.  Oak Ridge Church is located 6 miles west on Hwy. 1 and 1 mile north.

Tri-Community Living at Home is sponsoring “History and Hotdish” at 6pm on Tuesday, January 29th at the Newfolden Center.  The topic will be “Steamboats on the Red River of the North”.

Winterfest returns to the Eagles Club in Thief River Falls.  It all begins on Friday, February 1st with live music with “Blacklist” on stage at 9pm.  On Saturday, February 2nd registration for the Bags and Cribbage Tournament starts at 10am plus they’ll have door prizes and a free lunch.

You’re invited to the “King of the Wings Tailgate” on Saturday, February 2nd from 5-7pm at the Ralph Engelstad Arena.  The price of the ticket includes wings and all the fixings plus admission to the Thief River Falls Norskies game at 7pm.  Proceeds from this special event will be directed to the Youth Health and Wellness Fund in Thief River Falls through the Sanford Health Foundation.
