The Thief River Falls Area Food Shelf has new hours. Distribution will now be every Tuesday from 1-6pm and every Thursday from 11am-4:30pm at the Food Shelf Building, located at 16330 150th St. NE (go south on Hwy 59 past the movie theater and turn left onto Hwy 61/150th St.. it is the green building/2nd drive on the left). Please bring your own boxes.
Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program that meets every Tuesday night at Epiphany Station in Thief River Falls. This program is for anyone who is dealing with life’s hurts, habits or hang-ups. The night starts at 6pm with a free meal followed by worship with a teaching or testimony; the night ends in small groups. The groups currently offered are women’s life issues, addiction and grief and loss; and men’s addictions and life issues. Tri-Community Living at Home is sponsoring “History and Hotdish” at 6pm on Tuesday, January 29th at the Newfolden Center. The topic will be “Steamboats on the Red River of the North”.
There will be a Benefit Dinner for Rose Srnsky from 4-8pm on Thursday, January 31st at the Eagles in Thief River Falls. The evening’s events include a pulled Pork Dinner with a Freewill Donation, a Silent Auction and a Bake Sale. Proceeds will help the Srnsky family with expenses in Rose’s fight against cancer. Winterfest returns to the Eagles Club in Thief River Falls. It all begins on Friday, February 1st with live music with “Blacklist” on stage at 9pm. On Saturday, February 2nd registration for the Bags and Cribbage Tournament starts at 10am plus they’ll have door prizes and a free lunch.
You’re invited to the “King of the Wings Tailgate” on Saturday, February 2nd from 5-7pm at the Ralph Engelstad Arena. The price of the ticket includes wings and all the fixings plus admission to the Thief River Falls Norskies game at 7pm. Proceeds from this special event will be directed to the Youth Health and Wellness Fund in Thief River Falls through the Sanford Health Foundation.

Arts Legacy Grants up to $10,000 and Arts Project Grants up to $3,000 are open and will be awarded to nonprofit arts organizations, communities, schools, individuals and other nonprofit organizations. Applications are being accepted from our seven county Minnesota service area, including, Kittson, Marshall, Norman, Pennington, Polk, Red Lake and Roseau counties; the deadline to apply is March 1st.
