The Thief River Falls Area Food Shelf has new hours. Distribution will now be every Tuesday from 1-6pm and every Thursday from 11am-4:30pm at the Food Shelf Building, located at 16330 150th St. NE (go south on Hwy 59 past the movie theater and turn left onto Hwy 61/150th St.. it is the green building/2nd drive on the left). Please bring your own boxes.
Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program that meets every Tuesday night at Epiphany Station in Thief River Falls. This program is for anyone who is dealing with life’s hurts, habits or hang-ups. The night starts at 6pm with a free meal followed by worship with a teaching or testimony; the night ends in small groups. The groups currently offered are women’s life issues, addiction and grief and loss; and men’s addictions and life issues. On Thursday, February 7th Tri-Community Living at Home is sponsoring the Senior Meal at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Holt, followed by the Keenager Meeting and bingo. On Friday, February 8th at 1pm they’ll have “Puzzles and Pie” at the Newfolden Center.
The United States X-Country Snowmobile Racing presents the Goodridge-Grygla – Minnesota 500 on February, 9th-10th; they’ll have 500 miles of ditch, river, and woods cross country racing. All USXC classes will run, plus a new, additional class for the first time racer. An Autograph Session will be held at the Goodridge Liquor Store on Friday, February 9th from 6-7 pm. Depot Tacos 2019 will be served on Saturday, February 9th from 4:30pm-8pm at the American Legion in Middle River. Taco and a beverage is $8 and an Elephant Ear is $3. Drawings will be held for many prizes in the Romance Raffle starting at 7:30pm; Lucky Buck drawings will be held throughout the evening. Proceeds will go to the Ye Olde Depot Theatre Improvement Fund; sponsored by the Middle River Community Theater.
The Knights of Columbus is sponsoring the 62nd Annual Fishing Derby on Sunday, February 10th, at the 8th Street Bridge in Thief River Falls. Cash prizes will be awarded at 3pm. Raffle Tickets are $2 and are available at TRF Radio, at the entrance to the derby or from Knights of Columbus members. Ice holes are pre-drilled and minnows will be provided, just bring your favorite rod; DNR rules apply to this event.
The Thief River Falls Area Community Theatre presents a Valentine’s Dinner Theater; the romantic comedy classic “Barefoot in the Park” will be presented on Tuesday, February 12th, through Thursday, the 14th at the Eagles Club in Thief River Falls. The doors open at 6pm; the show begins at 7pm. A pasta bar, salad, bread, and dessert will be served. Tickets are $25/person and include dinner and the show. Advance tickets are available at Digi-Key’s east entrance during business hours or online at trfact.org.
