Darlene Gladys (Stromberg) Gonshorowski, of Viking, Minnesota, was born on July 17, 1941 at St Luke’s Hospital in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, to the late Gladys (Johnson) Stromberg and the late Arthur Stromberg. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Viking, MN. She attended Ridgeview country school thru the 4th grade, 4th-8th grade at Viking and graduated from Newfolden High School in 1959. Following High school, Darlene attended A.V.T.I to study book keeping.
In 1962, she was united to Gervase Gonshorowski in Warren, MN. They made their home in Litchfield, Osseo and Viking. In this union, there were two daughters born, Tami and Stacey.
While her daughters were growing up, Darlene was a homemaker. After raising her children, she went to work in Fargo where she was a book keeper in the automotive industry until retiring in 1996. Following her retirement, she moved to Newfolden to care for her mother as she aged.
Darlene passed away peacefully at the age of 77 on February 12, 2019 in Thief River Falls.
She is survived by her daughters, Tami (Joel) Swan of Newfolden, MN and Stacey (Georg) Eger of Goodyear, AZ; grandchildren, Garrett (Beth) Swan of Newfolden, MN, Kacie (Matt) Preysz of Draper, UT , and Jordan Moll of Loveland, CO; and great-grandchildren, Sophia Swan, Gunnar Swan, Sloane Preysz, and Brooks Preysz.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Darwin Knutson.
Friends and family can attend the celebration of life at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Newfolden, MN with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Ollie Urdahl will officiate. Burial will be at the Viking Cemetery.
