The Thief River Falls Area Food Shelf has new hours.  Distribution will now be every Tuesday from 1-6pm and every Thursday from 11am-4:30pm at the Food Shelf Building, located at 16330 150th St. NE (go south on Hwy 59 past the movie theater and turn left onto Hwy 61/150th St.. it is the green building/2nd drive on the left).  Please bring your own boxes.

Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program that meets every Tuesday night at Epiphany Station in Thief River Falls.  This program is for anyone who is dealing with life’s hurts, habits or hang-ups.  The night starts at 6pm with a free meal followed by worship with a teaching or testimony; the night ends in small groups.  The groups currently offered are women’s life issues, addiction and grief and loss; and men’s addictions and life issues.  Nursery is provided, as well as celebration place for elementary aged children. The Pennington County Soil & Water Conservation District is holding a question and answer Café Chat on Wednesday, March 6th from 9 am to noon at the Pennington Co. Joint Operations Facility in Thief River Falls.  A panel of local producers and conservation professionals will be available to answer your questions.  This event is free and open to all, but seating is limited, so please call the Pennington County SWCD at 683-7075 to reserve your place; coffee and rolls will be served.

The Thief River Falls Area Community Theater is sponsoring the Fargo-Moorhead Opera Young Artists when they present selections from Cossi Fan Tutte, Carmen, and even a Beatle’s set on Thursday, March 7th at 7pm at St. Bernard’s Church.  The cost is $10 at the door, kids are free with an adult.

There will be a benefit for Paula Anderson on Friday, March 8th from 5-9pm at the Thief River Falls Eagles Club.  The menu includes pulled pork with all the fixin’s, a free will offering will be collected; they will also have a live and silent auction.  Paula is a TRF resident and veteran nurse at Sanford Clinic in TRF.  She underwent 2 major surgeries in the past four months and has suffered complications that have left her with no feeling from the waist down.  She has spent several weeks in the hospital as well as the rehab center and will continue to receive therapy to try to restore her ability to walk.  An account has also been set up at Border State Bank.

Pennington County Humane Society is holding their annual Woof stock Fundraiser Saturday March 9th from 11 am – 2 pm at the Thief River Falls Eagles.  There will be a free-will donation burger & beans meal, a huge silent auction & bake sale, cash prize raffle, free face painting & balloon creations for the kids & more.  To donate baked goods, call 686-7039 or they can be dropped off at the Eagles March 9th from 9 – 11am.

The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council sponsors an annual Traveling Art Exhibit, which visits northwest Minnesota communities throughout the year.  The exhibit includes 15 original pieces of art by regional adult artists.  The exhibit will be at the Hallock Public Library through April 27th.
