The Thief River Falls Area Food Shelf has new hours.  Distribution will now be every Tuesday from 1-6pm and every Thursday from 11am-4:30pm at the Food Shelf Building, located at 16330 150th St. NE (go south on Hwy 59 past the movie theater and turn left onto Hwy 61/150th St.. it is the green building/2nd drive on the left).  Please bring your own boxes.

The Thief River Falls Area Community Theater is sponsoring the Fargo-Moorhead Opera Young Artists when they present selections from Cossi Fan Tutte, Carmen, and even a Beatle’s set on Thursday, March 7th at 7pm at St. Bernard’s Church.  The cost is $10 at the door,kids are free with an adult.

There will be a benefit for Paula Anderson on Friday, March 8th from 5-9pm at the Thief River Falls Eagles Club.  The menu includes pulled pork with all the fixin’s, a free will offering will be collected; they will also have a live and silent auction.  Paula is a TRF resident and veteran nurse at Sanford Clinic in TRF.  She underwent 2 major surgeries in the past four months and has suffered complications that have left her with no feeling from the waist down.  She has spent several weeks in the hospital as well as the rehab center and will continue to receive therapy to try to restore her ability to walk.  An account has also been set up at Border State Bank.

There will be a Trails for Treatment Fundraiser on Saturday, March 8th at the Middle River American Legion Club.  They will be serving a Klub and side pork dinner; a bake sale is also included, serving begins at 4pm.  Proceeds will go to the Trails for Treatment Cancer Fund.

Pennington County Humane Society is holding their annual Woof stock Fundraiser Saturday March 9th from 11 am – 2 pm at the Thief River Falls Eagles.  There will be a free-will donation burger & beans meal, a huge silent auction & bake sale, cash prize raffle, free face painting & balloon creations for the kids & more.  To donate baked goods, call 686-7039 or they can be dropped off at the Eagles March 9th from 9 – 11am.

The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council sponsors an annual Traveling Art Exhibit, which visits northwest Minnesota communities throughout the year.  The exhibit includes 15 original pieces of art by regional adult artists.  The exhibit will be at the Hallock Public Library through April 27th.

The Pennington County Humane Society will be holding their Annual Meeting on Tuesday, March 12th at 6pm at the Pennington County Humane Society, located at 15598 Highway 59, Thief River Falls.  All members and the public are welcome to attend.  For more information contact Sheila Johnson at 218-686-7039.
