A Portsmouth Ohio area man was killed yesterday in Otter Tail County.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Anthony Wayne Thacker, 51, was killed after he brought the 2006 Pontiac Van he was driving to a stop, and attempted to remove frost from the windshield. According to the State Patrol report, the vehicle was struck by a 2018 Infinity Q50 driven by Bryan Christian Robinson, 30.
The Pontiac is said to have then spun around, with the passenger side facing westbound traffic. A 2005 Buick Ranier, driven by Dustin Martin Tomke, 30, of Fergus Falls, was traveling westbound and broadsided the Pontiac on a snow and ice covered Highway 210 in Fergus Falls.
Thacker and a passenger in his vehicle, Dustin David Dekarske, 36, of Portsmouth Ohio were taken to Lakes Region and Sanford. Dekarske suffered injuries officers at the scene describe as non-life threating.
Robinson and Tomte suffered no apparent injury. Both were wearing seat-belts.
Thacker and Dekarske were not wearing seat-belts, at the time of the accident, reported just before 6AM.
Officials say alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
