Distribution at the Thief River Falls Food Shelf is every Tuesday from 1-6pm and every Thursday from 11am-4:30pm at the Food Shelf Building, located at 16330 150th St. NE (go south on Hwy 59 past the movie theater and turn left onto Hwy 61/150th St.. it is the green building/2nd drive on the left).  Please bring your own boxes.

The Thief River Falls Christian Women’s Club/Stonecroft Ministries will sponsor a noon lunch and program on Tuesday, March 19th at the American Legion in Thief River Falls.  Sharon Harrison, from Thief River Falls, will share with you about her journey through osteoporosis, and Jeff Liden will bring his musical talents to the great afternoon.  The cost is $9.00; for reservations or cancelations call Carmen at 681-3091.  Reservations are appreciated by Thursday, March 14th.

The Annual meeting of the Brooks Senior Citizen’s Homes Inc. will be held on Thursday, March 14th at 7pm at the Community Hall in Brooks.  The purpose of the meeting is to present financial reports and elect one director.  Prize drawings will be held and a light lunch will be served.

There will be a benefit and fundraiser for Jason Miller on Friday, March 15th from 5-8pm at the Thief River Falls Armory.  The freewill offering meal is “Taco in a Bag”, with a Live Auction, Silent Auction and bake sale happening throughout the evening.  Jason had brain surgery on December 8th to remove a golf ball-sized tumor and was diagnosed with Grade 4 Glioblastoma brain cancer.  He will be going through radiation and chemotherapy treatment through August of this year.  A benefit account has been set up at Northern State Bank in TRF.

There will be a Fish Fry in the Parish Hall at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, serving from 5:30pm-7:00pm every Friday through Lent.  Choose from one or two fillets of deep-fried, beer-battered walleye with all the trimmings.  Carry-out orders are available from 5-7pm, delivery orders will be taken starting at 3pm.

St. Anne’s Church of Goodridge will be holding their Annual Fish Fry on Friday during Lent, through April 12th.  The menu includes pan fried walleye fillet, baked potato, coleslaw, French-cut green beans, homemade buns, assorted desserts, and milk or coffee; serving from 4:30 – 7:00 pm.

The Viking Volunteer Fire and Rescue is having their Annual Spaghetti Supper Fundraiser on Saturday, March 16th from 4:30-8pm at the Viking School; they will be collecting a freewill donation.  The evening’s events also includes raffle drawings for door prizes and live entertainment.

The Annual Meeting of the Plummer Community Homes will be held on Monday, March 18th at 4pm at the Emardville Hall in Plummer.  The purpose of the meeting is to present financial reports and elect two directors.  Prize drawings will be held and lunch will be served.

Attention Eagles members: You and a guest are invited to an Award and Recognition Banquet on Thursday, March 21st.  Eagle members are admitted free of charge and the cost for a non-member guest is $5.00.  A stuffed pork chop dinner is being served; please RSVP by Monday, March 18th to 681-2406 or stop by the Eagles.

The yearly “Feed My Starving Children-Bagley Food Packing Event will be held on May 14th and 15th this year.  Volunteers are needed to help package meals for starving children.  To donate, which pays for the 22 cents meals, or to volunteer to work one or more two hour packing shifts, call 218-766-8176.  Donations need to be in by March 20th.
