It’s St. Bernard’s Annual Rummage Sale this weekend at the Thief River Falls City Auditorium. The sale is on Friday from 3-8pm, Saturday from 8am-8pm, and Sunday from noon-3pm. St. Anne’s Church of Goodridge will be holding their Annual Fish Fry on Friday’s during Lent, through April 12th. The menu includes pan fried walleye fillet, baked potato, coleslaw, French-cut green beans, homemade buns, assorted desserts, and milk or coffee; serving from 4:30 – 7:00 pm.
There will be a Fish Fry in the Parish Hall at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, serving from 5:30pm-7:00pm every Friday through Lent. Choose from one or two fillets of deep-fried, beer-battered walleye with all the trimmings. Carry-out orders are available from 5-7pm, delivery orders will be taken starting at 3pm.
The LHS Drama Club presents its 3rd Annual Children’s Theater Production on Friday, March 29th and Saturday, March 30th at 7pm in the LHS Auditorium. A one hour version of the classic book, “The Wizard of Oz”, will be presented; tickets will be available at the door only, the cost is $6 for adults and $4 for students.
A Garden Workshop will be held at the Heritage Center in TRF on Saturday, March 30th; registration begins at 9 am, followed by the program at 10am. Eric Castle, Associate Professor of Horticulture at UMC, will discuss elements and principles of design for flower beds, container gardening and floral design. The TRF Area Food Shelf and The Rusty Nail are teaming up to help provide hygiene products to families in need. On Saturday, March 30th they will have a ‘Burger Basket Fundraiser’ from 10am-3pm at the Rusty Nail in Thief River Falls. Bring a hygiene product and get a ticket for a chance to win various door prizes; there will also be a Silent Auction of Art created by Bert Foster and Sandy Hensrud. It’s the Agassiz Rod and Gun Club’s 37th Annual Gun Show on Saturday, March 30th from 9am-5pm and on Sunday, March 31st from 10am-4pm at the Newfolden High School Gym; admission is $5. You can buy, sell, trade, or look, and you’ll find coins, crafts, jewelry, baseball cards and collectibles. Raffle tickets will be available at the show for a Stump 2 Ice House/Blind and food will also be available during show hours. The TRF Skating Club presents their 44th Annual Fantasy on Ice on Saturday, March 30th at 6pm and on Sunday, March 31st at 2pm. The show this year is a “Double Feature”, showcasing songs from High School Musical and Grease. Advanced tickets are on sale now until March 29th at Hugo’s and the Pennington stores; the cost is $7 for adults, and $5 for both students K-12 and for Seniors age 60 and up, tickets are $1 more at the door.
Immanuel Lutheran Church is having their Annual Spring Dinner on Sunday, March 31st from 11am-1pm at the Plummer Community Hall. The menu includes ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing, vegetable, coleslaw, dessert, and beverage. The cost is adults/$12 and kids 10 and younger/$7; take-outs will be available.
It’s a Grab N’ Go this Sunday, March 31st, at the Legacy Center in Middle River from 12-2pm only. Most unsold items left from last weekend will be up for grabs. Come and take what you want, it’s all free, but a donation to the Legacy Center would be greatly appreciated, please give what you want. Items will be in the ‘bag it’ room in the hallway, and in the band room. At 2pm a Bingo Fundraiser sponsored by the Miss Northstar Committee will be held in the cafeteria. Remember, the Legacy Center is the former Middle River School.
The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council announces the 2019 Annual Art Exhibit will be shown at the Badger Community Center, running now through Sunday, March 31st. The exhibit features 100 pieces of visual art, photography, and fine craft from area adult and high school students. The Artist Reception will be held at the Badger Community Center on Sunday, March 31st; refreshments will be served at 2:15pm with the program beginning promptly at 3pm. Local entertainment will be featured during the program. This event is open to the public and free to attend. Many pieces of art are for sale and the public is encouraged to shop.
The Annual Deer Hunter’s Association Banquet will be held on Monday, April 1st at 5pm at the TRF Eagles. Tickets are available at Erl’s Market for $75, which includes a one-year membership to MNDHA. Get your tickets early as there are a limited number of seats available.
The Pennington County Sportsman’s Club will be holding Firearm Safety Classes in the conference room at the Joint Operations Center, south of Petro Pumper, on Tuesday, April 2nd from 6:00-9:00pm and on Wednesday and Thursday April 3rd & 4th from 6:30-9:00 pm; you must be 11 years old to attend. Saturday, April 6th will be Field Day at the Pennington County Sportsman’s Club, located north on Dewey Ave, approximately 3 miles. Students must attend all classes and field day to get a certificate. Online Range Day will also be held at the Pennington County Sportsman’s Club on Saturday, April 6th from 7am-4pm. Online students must have completed the “Huntercourse.com” program and bring the voucher; more classes will be held in August and September.
