Update on Arnold Avenue House Fire, Body Found, Suspect in Custody


More information has been released following an Arnold Avenue house fire.

According to the Pennington County Sheriff’s Department, officials are now investigating an apparent arson and suspicious death.

The victim has only been identified as a female. Officials say that the home had two apartments, one on the upper and one main level residence. The body was discovered in the upper-level apartment.

A suspect has been taken into custody. According to a release from the Sheriff’s Department, 23 year old Devon James Pulczinski was a renter at 307 and a half Arnold Avenue, and has been booked into the Pennington County Jail.

The fire was reported by a 911 caller shortly after 5:30PM yesterday. The Thief River Falls Fire Department worked all night to extinguish the blaze.

Agencies involved with the investigation included the Thief River Falls Police Department, Pennington County Sheriff Department, Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, Minnesota State Fire Marshal, Pine to Prairie Drug Task Force, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, agents and crime scene team.
