A Senior Dance will be held at the American Legion in Middle River from 2-5 pm on Wednesday, April 3rd; music will be by Texas Connection.
The Pennington County Sportsman’s Club will be holding Firearm Safety Classes in the conference room at the Joint Operations Center, south of Petro Pumper, on Wednesday and Thursday April 3rd & 4th from 6:30-9:00 pm; you must be 11 years old to attend. Saturday, April 6th will be Field Day at the Pennington County Sportsman’s Club, located north on Dewey Ave, approximately 3 miles. Students must attend all classes and field day to get a certificate. Online Range Day will also be held at the Pennington County Sportsman’s Club on Saturday, April 6th from 7am-4pm. Online students must have completed the “Huntercourse.com” program and bring the voucher; more classes will be held in August and September. Distribution at the Thief River Falls Food Shelf is every Tuesday from 1-6pm and every Thursday from 11am-4:30pm at the Food Shelf Building, located at 16330 150th St. NE (go south on Hwy 59 past the movie theater and turn left onto Hwy 61/150th St.. it is the green building/2nd drive on the left). St. John’s Lutheran School is sponsoring a Pork Chop Dinner and Silent Auction Fundraiser on Thursday, April 4th from 4:30-7pm at St. John Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. The meal will be prepared by David Lee Catering; this is a freewill offering fundraiser, the suggested donation is $8. Silent Auction items are donated by area businesses and supporters.

The Popple Ridge Pickers will be entertaining at the Pennington Soil and Water Conservation District’s Annual Banquet on Tuesday, April 9th at 6:30pm at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. Besides the entertainment, the SWCD Banquet will also include award presentations to Outstanding Conservationists, Rural Beautification Winners and the 5th and 6th grade Poster/Mural winners. ECFE is sponsoring a Children’s Garage Sale/Fund Raiser on Saturday, April 6th from 9am–12pm at Challenger Elementary School in Thief River Falls. A large selection of children’s clothing, toys, equipment, and more will be available, with a suggested donation of $1.00 per adult.
A Theater Tech Workshop will be offered on Saturday, April 6th from 10am-4pm at the NWMAC Office Conference Room in Warren. The cost is $15, which includes the training, materials, and lunch. The Goodridge Area Fire and Rescue’s 15th Annual Open House and Fundraiser will be held on Saturday, April 6th from 4:30-8pm at the Goodridge Fire Hall. They will be serving burgers, fries, ice cream, milk, coffee and juice. They will also have door prizes and many raffle prizes, including guns, fishing equipment, ladies items and more.
There will be a Smelt Fry on Saturday, April 6th at 4:30pm at the Middle River American Legion. The menu includes smelt or pollock, potato salad, beans, bread, coffee and lemonade.
