Distribution at the Thief River Falls Food Shelf is every Tuesday from 1-6pm and every Thursday from 11am-4:30pm at the Food Shelf Building, located at 16330 150th St. NE (go south on Hwy 59 past the movie theater and turn left onto Hwy 61/150th St.. it is the green building/2nd drive on the left).  Please bring your own boxes.

The Hospice of Red River Valley is offering a free grief support group on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month through June, from 10-11:30am at the Thief River Falls Public Library.  The grief support group is open to any adult 18 years and older who are grieving the loss of a loved one through death.  For more information call 800-237-4629 or go to bereavement@hrrv.org

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and you can join VIP and Northland Community and Technical College when they present a program on how you can help prevent sexual violence. On Thursday, April 11th at 12pm in Room 203 at the college  the presentation features guest speaker Alicia Johnson, a third year MD candidate at the University of Minnesota.  You are welcome to bring your own lunch; learn more at violenceintervention.org

St. Bernard’s in TRF is holding a Kindergarten Round-Up on Thursday, April 11th from 6-7:30pm at the St. Bernard’s cafeteria.  This is for Pre-Kindergarten/ages 4-5, and Pre-School/ages 3-4.  For questions call 681-1539.

The Thief River Falls Christian Women’s Club/Stonecroft Ministries will sponsor a noon lunch and program on Tuesday, April 16th at the American Legion in Thief River Falls.  Danielle Carlson from Total Betty will have a Spring and Summer Women’s Clothing Style Show.  Rita Weber, from Sioux Falls, SD will talk about “A Trip to Remember” and will also share her musical talents.  The cost is $9.00; for reservations or cancelations call Carmen at 681-3091.  Reservations are appreciated by Thursday, April 11th.

The St. Hilaire Fire and Rescue is sponsoring their 29th Annual Spaghetti Supper on Saturday, April 13th from 4-8pm at the St. Hilaire Community Center.  They will be serving spaghetti with homemade sauce, bread sticks, salad, milk, coffee and ice cream.  A free will offering will be included, with dine-in or carry-out orders available.  Proceeds will pay for equipment and supplies for the St. Hilaire Fire/Rescue/EMS Response.

It’s the 2019 Grygla Lions Annual Smelt Fry on Saturday, April 13th from 4-8pm at the Grygla Community Center.  The “all you can eat” menu includes smelt, baked potato, baked beans, cole slaw, dinner rolls, beer, milk and coffee.  The price is $12/adults, $6/age 12 and under, preschool is free.  Everyone is welcome!

Everyone is invited to the Palm Sunday Choir Cantata, under the direction of Don Saiger, at 7pm on Sunday, April 14th at the Warren Covenant Church.  Bars and coffee will be served following the program.

The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council sponsors an annual Traveling Art Exhibit, which visits northwest Minnesota communities throughout the year.  The exhibit includes 15 original pieces of art by regional adult artists.  The exhibit will be at the Hallock Public Library through April 27th.

Spaces are being sold for a multi-party Flea Market/Rummage Sale to be held in TRF at the Evangelical Covenant Church parking lot on Saturday, May 18th from 8-2.  All proceeds from space/table rental and food stand will support missions.  For more information, contact Nikki at 681-4449 or Alice at 684-5420.

You can help commemorate The Back Behind the Barn Boys; the Grygla Lion’s Club is taking donations to purchase two billboards that will be located in Gatzke to honor the local band.  Donations can either be brought to or mailed to the American State Bank of Grygla, at PO Box 78; donations should be received by May 1st.
