The St. Hilaire Fire and Rescue is sponsoring their 29th Annual Spaghetti Supper on Saturday, April 13th from 4-8pm at the St. Hilaire Community Center.  They will be serving spaghetti with homemade sauce, bread sticks, salad, milk, coffee and ice cream.  A free will offering will be included, with dine-in or carry-out orders available.  Proceeds will pay for equipment and supplies for the St. Hilaire Fire/Rescue/EMS Response.

It’s the 2019 Grygla Lions Annual Smelt Fry on Saturday, April 13th from 4-8pm at the Grygla Community Center.  The “all you can eat” menu includes smelt, baked potato, baked beans, cole slaw, dinner rolls, beer, milk and coffee.  The price is $12/adults, $6/age 12 and under, preschool is free.  Everyone is welcome!

Everyone is invited to the Palm Sunday Choir Cantata, under the direction of Don Saiger, at 7pm on Sunday, April 14th at the Warren Covenant Church.  Bars and coffee will be served following the program.

The Thief Lake Ladies Aid will hold their Bake and Fancywork Sale on Tuesday, April 16th from 9am-3pm at the American Legion in Middle River.  They will serve morning coffee from 9-11am and a noon meal from 11am-2pm; there will be a quilt raffle.

The Farmer’s Coop Grain and Seed will hold their annual meeting on Tuesday, April 16th at 10:30am at the Thief River Falls City Auditorium basement meeting room.  Lunch will be served.

The Fourtown Grygla Sportsman’s Club will meet on Tuesday, April 16th at 7pm at the TRF American Legion.

The Catholic Daughters of the Americas will be sponsoring will be sponsoring a Bake Sale on Good Friday, April 19th, near the west entrance of Park Place Mall in Red Lake Falls.  Beginning at 8am, they will continue until the baked items are sold out.  Proceeds will go towards scholarships for students.  If you have any questions, contact Shirley Johnson or Bev Philion.

Come and meet the Easter Bunny and have your picture taken with him at the Thief River Falls 5th Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 20th from 9am-12pm at the Huck Olson Arena.  There will be over 6,000 stuffed Easter Eggs, some with special prizes, and also displays and demonstrations by the TRF Police Department, The Pennington County Sheriff’s Department, the TRF Ambulance Service and the TRF Fire Department.  There are three age categories and times: ages 2-3 start at 10am, ages 4-5 start at 10:30am and ages 6-8 start at 11am.  Games will be provided by Women of Today and 4-H Clubs.  This event is sponsored by Ace Rental, TRF Park and Rec, Kidz First Foundation and Thief River Falls businesses.  For more information call Ace Rental at 681-5862.

You can help commemorate The Back Behind the Barn Boys; the Grygla Lion’s Club is taking donations to purchase two billboards that will be located in Gatzke to honor the local band.  Donations can either be brought to or mailed to the American State Bank of Grygla, at PO Box 78; donations should be received by May 1st.

The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council sponsors an annual Traveling Art Exhibit, which visits northwest Minnesota communities throughout the year.  The exhibit includes 15 original pieces of art by regional adult artists.  The exhibit will be at the Hallock Public Library through April 27th.

It’s time to think about getting your adult, age 14 and older, and children, ages 13 and under, entries ready for the 2019 Pennington County fair.  Start working now on your entries for culinary, needlework, table settings, sewing, arts & crafts, taxidermy, photography, senior citizen and woodworking departments.  It’s also time to start making your homemade wine, root beer and beer entries.  Contact Sherry Sorenson at 681-2243 or Arlette DeFreece at 681-3859 with any questions.
