Funeral service to celebrate Annette’s life will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Faith Lutheran Church in Goodridge, MN with Rev. Kristin Ostercamp officiating. Burial will be at Highlanding Cemetery, rural Goodridge, MN. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until time of the service on Sunday at Faith Lutheran Church.
Annette Susan Magnell was born on March 12, 1960 in Grand Forks, ND the daughter of Charlie and Corlan (Sorenson) Magnell. She was baptized and confirmed at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, rural Oklee, MN. She attended school in Oklee graduating with the class of 1978.
On September 3, 1977, Annette was united in marriage to Mark Vettleson at Ebenezer Lutheran Church. To this union four children were born Derick, Erika, Lindsay and Nickolas. They made their home outside of Plummer, MN.
Annette loved her time at home raising and caring for her children. The door was always open and the house was always full of nieces, nephews and neighbor kids.
In September of 2000, Annette met her soul mate and love of her life, Gaylon Phelps. They moved to Goodridge, MN and spent the next 19 years together in a very loving relationship.
Annette and Gaylon enjoyed traveling & taking vacations, camping and spending time with their ten grandkids. Annette was the most selfless, kind, caring, nurturing and encouraging person. Her love for others was unconditional. She expressed many of her thoughts and feelings through writing of poems, notes and letters. She always made sure anyone she spent time with had a special nick name.
Annette was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Goodridge, MN.
Survivors include the love of her life, Gaylon Phelps of Goodridge; children, Derick (fiancé Amanda Steckler) Vettleson of Fargo, ND, Erika (Shevy) Akason of Dana Point, CA, Lindsay (Mitch) Rystad of Brooks, MN and Nickolas Vettleson of Thief River Falls, MN; step-daughter, Tiasha Phelps of Goodridge; grandchildren, Kaiza, Krimzen, Brooklyn, Regan, Crew, Brody, Sophia, Keaden, Anessa, and Annaliese; mother, Corlan Kleinschmidt; brothers, Randy (Nancy) Magnell, Wesley (Debbie) Magnell all of Oklee, MN and Dennis (Danielle) Magnell of Gully, MN; sister-in-law, Toni Magnell of Oklee; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father; brother, Jason Magnell; grandsons, Blake Nickolas and Adam Earl; and grandparents, Otto & Sylvia Magnell and Harry & Agnes Sorenson.
