Distribution at the Thief River Falls Food Shelf is every Tuesday from 1-6pm and every Thursday from 11am-4:30pm at the Food Shelf Building, located at 16330 150th St. NE (go south on Hwy 59 past the movie theater and turn left onto Hwy 61/150th St.. it is the green building/2nd drive on the left). Tri-Community Living at Home is sponsoring “History and Hotdish” on Tuesday, April 30th at 6pm at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Holt. The topic for the evening is “World War I-America’s Preparations for War”. This will be a very interesting session, with informative displays and a narrated slideshow of actual photos.
Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program that meets every Tuesday night at Epiphany Station in Thief River Falls. This program is for anyone who is dealing with life’s hurts, habits or hang-ups. The night starts at 6pm with a free meal followed by worship with a teaching or testimony; the night ends in small groups. The groups currently offered are women’s life issues, addiction and grief and loss; and men’s addictions and life issues. You can help commemorate The Back Behind the Barn Boys; the Grygla Lion’s Club is taking donations to purchase two billboards that will be located in Gatzke to honor the local band. Donations can either be brought to or mailed to the American State Bank of Grygla, at PO Box 78; donations should be received by May 1st.

The community and surrounding area are invited to Challenger Elementary in Thief River Falls for the Challenger Carnival on Saturday, May 4th from 9am-1pm. The school will be filled with games galore, inflatable air jumps, over 200 silent auction items, a general store and more! It will be a day of good old-fashioned fun for everyone.
St. Ann’s Church of Grygla is serving their last fish fry on Saturday, May 4th from 4-7pm. The menu includes pan-fried walleye, baked potato, green beans, cole slaw, coffee, milk, rolls and assorted desserts. The price is $13/two fillets and $11/one fillet.
There will be an Artist’s Reception celebrating local artists Cathy Forgit of Fertile, who specializes in fiber works and Jean Honl of Roseau, who specializes in rosemaling, on Saturday, May 4th from 1-4pm at the NW Minnesota Arts Council Gallery in East Grand Forks. They will have light refreshments, and Jean will be demonstrating her craft of rosemaling. This exhibit is open through May 4th.

Start working now on your entries for culinary, needlework, table settings, sewing, arts & crafts, taxidermy, photography, senior citizen and woodworking departments.
