Distribution at the Thief River Falls Food Shelf is every Tuesday from 1-6pm and every Thursday from 11am-4:30pm at the Food Shelf Building, located at 16330 150th St. NE (go south on Hwy 59 past the movie theater and turn left onto Hwy 61/150th St.. it is the green building/2nd drive on the left).  Please bring your own boxes.

The TRF ECFE is sponsoring one more family event this spring for families with children 5 years and younger.  The “Big Wheels” free event will be held on Tuesday, May 7th from 5-7pm at the Challenger parking lot.  Learn more about big vehicles and get up close to climb on and in these fascinating machines; a snack will be available.

Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program that meets every Tuesday night at Epiphany Station in Thief River Falls.  This program is for anyone who is dealing with life’s hurts, habits or hang-ups.  The night starts at 6pm with a free meal followed by worship with a teaching or testimony; the night ends in small groups.  The groups currently offered are women’s life issues, addiction and grief and loss; and men’s addictions and life issues.  Nursery is provided, as well as celebration place for elementary aged children. The Hospice of Red River Valley is offering a free grief support group on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month through June, from 10-11:30am at the Thief River Falls Public Library.  The grief support group is open to any adult 18 years and older who are grieving the loss of a loved one through death.  For more information call 800-237-4629 or go to bereavement@hrrv.org

There will be a car wash at the Thief River Falls Evangelical Covenant Church parking lot on Saturday, May 11th from 10am-2pm.  Money raised will be used to support their mission trip to The Midwest Indian Mission in Crandon, Wisconsin this July.

Bike TRF, a local organization of bicycle enthusiasts, and the Ski and Bike Shop from Grand Forks, is sponsoring a safety check/get your bike ready to ride workshop event on Saturday, May 11th from 10am-12 noon at the old ITS building across from the Methodist Church and the TRF Fire Department.  Participants are invited to bring their bikes for a safety check.  Recommendations for proper emergency kits for your style of riding will also be available.

Norwegian Heritage Week is May 11th-May 18th and festivities start this Saturday, May 11th.  Come to Pioneer Village from 10am-4pm and enjoy Viking re-enactors, Scandinavian crafts, lefse demonstration, rommegrot, music, robotics team and mini-maker faire; the cost is $5 for adults and $2 for children.

The Flying V Cancer Fighters are sponsoring a Mother’s Day Dinner on Sunday, May 12th at the Middle River American Legion.  Serving from 11am-2pm, the menu includes ham, potato casserole, vegetable, cole slaw, dinner rolls, cake and ice cream.  The Free Will Donation will be given to Trails to Treatment and other cancer fighting causes.

The Lincoln High School Choir students and the Patrick Henry High School Choir students from North Minneapolis proudly present “Breaking Barriers- Building a Foundation of Humanity” on Sunday, May 12th and Monday, May 13th at 7pm in the LHS Auditorium.  Tickets will be available at LHSchoir.com or by visiting the LHS Activities Office.

Tickets to the Syttende Mai Smorgasbord at the TRF Eagles during Norwegian Heritage Week on Wednesday, May 15th are now on sale at Hugo’s for $15.  These are pre-sale tickets only, with a limited number available.

Tractor Supply in Thief River Falls is holding a Market Day on Saturday, May 18th from 8am-3pm and is looking for organizations that would like to sell their homemade items or would like to do some fundraising.  They are looking for someone to cook breakfast and for someone to cook lunch to raise money for their organization.  They have the option for someone to do a car wash and they can get the dunk tank if an organization would like to use it for a fund raiser.
