Plans for the Mark Boulevard Bridge Project were approved by the Pennington County Board of Commissioners yesterday at their Regular meeting in down town Thief River Falls.
According to Pennington County Engineer Mike Flaagan, a plan review with consultants went “well” for the planned crossing over the Red Lake River, South of Thief River Falls.
Flaagan says the plan needed Board approval to conform to Minnesota Department of Transportation’s funding procedure. He says the Highway Department is still working on agreements with the state DOT.
The bridge is one of five projects in the Highway Department’s five year plan, which was also approved Tuesday. Advertising for bids on the project was approved last month by the County Board. Flaagan says earliest possible day for bids would be May 28th.
Construction is expected to begin this summer.
