The Minnesota Department of Agriculture has a new program designed to help the state’s food and beverage firms.
The MDA’s New Markets Program is benefiting 15 Minnesota companies seeking to grow at this weekend’s National Restaurant Association Show and the Sweets & Snacks Expo in Chicago.
According to a release from the MDA, the events draw more than 60 thousand buyers and industry professionals from around the world. The New Markets Program coordinates “Minnesota Pavilions,” designed to amplify the efforts of Minnesota food makers by providing promotion, logistical support, and cost-sharing for the companies.
Participants in last year’s events projected sales in excess of 2 million dollars this year.
